i heart gerard butler!

I do, I totally heart Gerard Butler. So, this weekend, I went and checked out NIM'S ISLAND with Jodie Foster and Abigail Breslin. Mr. Butler was appropriately dreamy, and actually played two parts. It was quite fun watching him gallivant about. Foster is actually quite funny (and tragic) as a neurotic author who has to help Nim (Breslin) whose father has been lost at sea. This movie is slightly ridiculous, and really aimed at kids, but was an okay way to pass a couple of hours.

Final thoughts: If you are a fan of Butler, go and enjoy the scenery, if not, well, and your not a kid, you don't need to visit this island.

BONUS: Butler is currently filming a rom-com with Katherine Heigl. I am most excited.

forgetting sarah marshall

I have been looking forward to seeing FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL for almost a year. I know, mock me if you must, but it stars two peeps that I really like. Well, last weekend, with one of my fave people, I finally got to check it out. Was it change-my-life fantastic? Will I buy it the second it comes out on DVD? Well, no. However, I thought that it was really funny, and I am so glad I got to check it out. Kristen Bell stars as the forgotten, and the film is written by and stars Jason Segal from HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. Segal has just been dumped by Bell, and is super-depressed about it. He decides to go to Hawaii to get away from it all, and of course, Bell is there with her new boyfriend, a ridiculous rock star, who is hilarious, played by Russell Brand. (He steals pretty much every scene he's in!) Mila Kunis works at the resort, and she and Segal start to make googly eyes at one another.
The movie is funny, and in typical Apatow way, has some sweet moments to counteract the raunchy, dirty stuff. Everyone is fine in their parts, and I now want to go to Hawaii, and kudos to "Kenneth" from 30 ROCK who appears as a virginal newlywed who can't figure out the "sex" thing. I giggled. Bonus: There is a musical about vampires. I am SO not kidding.

Final thoughts: Funny, dirty, great people....one to catch if you like the Judd Apatow house of funny. Not necessary to see on the big screen, though.

fail...

Peeps,

I am so sorry that I have FAILED so miserably the last couple weeks with the blog. As we went into the final push to get ready for the show, I found myself busier than I have been in ages. Also, I might be pretty lazy, so let's face it, it just wasn't gonna happen. The show is up and running, and I am having a great time! It has been AMAZING to get back onto the stage, and I honestly couldn't be happier about the whole thing. The parents have come, seen the show, seemed pleased, and will get on a plane and head back to Ohio tomorrow afternoon. I will then head back to the theatre for one more show....

Honestly, I haven't been doing much other than preparing for the show the last couple of weeks...but I will try to blog this coming week about what I did do. I saw an amazing French film called, LOVE SONGS.....I went and saw my roomie in the New York City Opera production of CANDIDE....this coming Tuesday, I am heading to the new production of GYPSY staring Patti Lupone...and next weekend, I am flying home to the parents to celebrate my gorgeous nephew's 2nd birthday! So, the good news is I will have something to blog about!

All that being said, I am off to bed....have an early morning to have a farewell breakfast with the parents, along with my Aunt who lives here in the city, and an aunt and uncle who were in the city for the weekend.

More soon.....I promise!
